  • born in Mainz
  • first contact with drums and »sticks« at age 4
  • first official appearance at age 11
  • apprenticeship as engraver (professional title) at the Schott music publishing house in Mainz
  • 1974: moved to Munich to study music at the Richard Strauss- Conservatory, etc. and studied the Basel drum with Arnold F. Riedhammer, solo drummer and timpanist of the Munich Philharmonic
  • lecturer at the Richard Strauss Conservatory of the City of Munich since 1992 and since 2008 lecturer at the University of Music and Theater in Munich, Department Jazz Institute
  • he has been playing in the Hugo Strasser Orchestra since 1987 and has recorded many LPs, CDs and studio productions with this orchestra
