The internationally sought-after drummer Christian Lettner will take over a professorship in jazz percussion at the Jazz Institute of the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich on December 1, 2021.

Christian Lettner studied at the Jazz and Popular Music Department of the Bruckner Conservatory Linz. Immediately after graduating in 2000, Klaus Doldinger brought him into the band Passport, with which Lettner has since toured worldwide and recorded seven CDs.

Lettner's versatility has allowed him to be heard in a wide variety of formations and he has shared the stage with renowned artists on the national and international scene, including the WDR Big Band Cologne, Eric Person Trio, Pee Wee Ellis, Randy Brecker, Rob Scheps Quartett, Majid Bekkas, Karl Ratzer, Nils Landgren, Peter O'Mara, Adrian Mears, Johannes Enders, Joo Kraus, Ola Onabule, Martin Grubinger "Percussive Planet", Berliner Philharmoniker, Benjamin Schmid, Josef Hader, Max Mutzke, Max Herre, Sasha and many more. v.a.

Tours and concert trips have taken him all over Europe, Brazil, Colombia, Australia, New Zealand and Korea.
