Anne Czichowsky (born in 1981 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland) studied jazz vocals at the Universities of Music in Stuttgart and Graz. Since then, she has established herself as a soloist and bandleader in various jazz projects and has won several international jazz awards. With her passion for scat improv and straight ahead jazz, she can truly be considered as a »keeper of the flame«. Her vocalese lyrics on instrumental solos attract international attention. She has so far performed in Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Austria, Turkey, Africa (Mozambique, Zimbabwe & South Africa), Lithuania, Romania, Finland, South East Asia (Laos, Malaysia, Vietnam & Cambodia), Mongolia and all over Germany.

She collaborated with Sheila Jordan, Kristin Korb, Darmon Meader, Greetje Kauffeld, Önder Focan Trio, Gianluca Esposito, Bayan Mongol Bigband, Martin Zenker, Oliver Mtukudzi, Willi Johanns, Südpool Ensemble with Bernd Konrad, Günther Lenz, Herbert Joos and many others. Currently, Anne is the bandleader of four projects, performing regularly in Germany and abroad: »Anne Czichowsky Quintet«, »Quodlibetting« with Swiss-based singer Marianne Racine, »Round #2« with Swiss guitarist Michael Bucher and her female quintet »Lines for Ladies«.

In 2011, she received the »Landesjazzpreis Baden-Württemberg«, which is one of the most prestigious jazz awards in Germany. For the first time in over 35 years this award was given to a singer.

Anne Czichowsky is a popular and dedicated jazz vocal teacher, currently coaching the vocal ensemble of the Bavarian Youth Jazz Big Band (LJJB). Since 2019, she‘s the director of the Int. New York Voices Vocal Jazz Camp in Marktoberdorf, Germany. Apart from many workshop and masterclass activities, she‘s a docent for jazz vocals at the University of Music HMT Munich and the BFSM Krumbach music college, and she also holds a lectureship position at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).

In 2014, she released her third album »The truth and the abstract blues« as a leader with the »Anne Czichowsky Quintet« on Double Moon Records. The musicians playing in this quintet are Martin Wiedmann (guitar), Thilo Wagner (piano), Axel Kühn (bass) and Matthias Daneck (drums). Also in 2014, a new project came to life: Together with the German jazz singer Sabine Kühlich, Anne founded the project »Lines for Ladies«, a whole female band. Lines for Ladies had its debut at the Int. Festival »Women in Jazz« in Halle (Germany) and released a live album in 2016 featuring jazz legend Sheila Jordan and US-bassist & singer Kristin Korb.
