Werner Aldinger was born in Munich in 1958. In the early 80s he played with the rock band »Embryo« and with jazz greats such as Mal Waldron and Charlie Mariano.

From 1987 to 1989 he hosted music programs for the National Bavarian radio (Bayerischer Rundfunk) and wrote articles for various jazz and hi-fi magazines.

He has been working as a label manager and producer at enja records since 1990. In 2008 he founded his own label yellowbird records.

Collaboration with Archie Shepp, Dewey & Joshua Redman, Sun Ra, Eddy Harris, Elliott Sharp, Myra Melford, Marc Ribot, Aki Takase, Johannes Enders, Nils Wogram, LBT, Or Bareket, Ron Miles, Jazz Passengers and many more.

His productions have been honored with the German Record Critics' Award several times (Jun Miyake, Elliott Sharp, Aki Takase, Paul Brody, Archie Shepp, Mal Waldron, Roman Bunka etc.). The Jazz ECHO was awarded to albums by Billy Hart (drums), Johannes Enders (sax), Brian Blade (drums), Johanna Borchert (vocal), Andreas Scherer (vocal) and Lucia Cadotsch (vocal).
