Congratulations to our alumna Alma Naidu for receiving the Kulturförderpreis 2021 in the field of music!

On Thursday, December 2, 2021, several alumni and alumnae of our university were awarded the Kulturförderpreis Bayern 2021 during a ceremony:

Alma Naidu, alumna of our Jazz Institute in jazz vocals, is one of four laureates* of the Bavarian Arts Promotion Award 2021 in the field of music this year.

In addition to her, the pianist Amadeus Wiesensee, a graduate of the artistic piano program and master's student in new music at the HMTM, also received the award.

In addition, Andromahi Raptis, graduate of the cooperative study program Music Theater/Opera Singing of the August Everding Theater Academy and our university, was awarded in the performing arts category.

Carollina de Souza Bastos, alumna of the HMTM Ballet Academy, was selected for the Special Award Dance.

Minister of Art Bernd Sibler honored the 17 artists and ensembles at the award ceremony in Munich's Prinzregententheater. Students from the acting and musical programs led through the evening and presented excerpts from the "Threepenny Opera," a cross-course production by director Philipp Moschitz that unfortunately could never be shown to an audience due to the Corona pandemic.

Since 2005, the Free State of Bavaria has awarded 17 art sponsorship prizes each year in four categories: "Music", "Visual Arts", "Performing Arts (incl. Dance)" and "Literature". The award winners must have completed their education, live in Bavaria and have their creative center here. They must also possess exceptional artistic talent and be able to point to outstanding achievements. The prizes are awarded by the Bavarian State Minister for Science and the Arts on the recommendation of expert juries.

The recording of the award ceremony is available here.
